Midterm I

| Study guide: | The exam will span the material in the required readings up to (and including) Sep 23.
The following sections of the textbook will not be covered: 1.4.4 and 1.6 in Chap. 1. |
| Notes: | The exam will open books and open notes. Whether you plan or not to rely on the book and your notes during the exam, make sure you master the material well and know and understand the homework solutions. You will not have much time to flip through pages. |
Midterm II
| Date: | Thursday, November 4, during class time. |
| Study guide: | The exam will span the material in the assigned readings from Sep 23 to Oct 26. The following sections of the textbook will not be covered: 2.7 from Chap. 2, 3.3.2 - 3.3.6 from Chap. 3. |
