The final will comprehensive and online.
The exam will assume knowledge of all the required reading material listed in the Lectures section as well as posted solutions to homework assignments and projects. (Recommended readings are excluded.) It is safe to assume that it will not delve into the details of the technical papers in the required readings.
The exam will contain a mix of true/false, multiple choice, short answer questions, and specification problems in Alloy, Lustre and Dafny. The latter will focus on your general understanding of these languages and formal specification, not on your remembering the exact details of their syntax.
The midterm will be online and cover material from the beginning of the semester up to, and including, the last class before it.
It will be open book and notes but must be done individually. No collaborations with others.
