Rhonda DeCook

Lecturer, Statistical Consultant

About me

I received my Ph.D. in Statistics from Iowa State University in 2006, and came to the University of Iowa in 2007. Courses I teach range from probability for engineering undergraduates to design of experiments for graduate students, but I mainly focus on applied statistics. I have been involved with the creation of the UI Data Science undergraduate program which includes a data science practicum component that I presently oversee. Most of my statistical interests revolve around data analysis and visualization, and statistical consulting. I enjoy connecting with individuals from other disciplines who are looking for a statistician to help with their projects. I work mostly in R and SAS statistical software, and I've investigated some of the capabilities of the R shiny package.

I have two young active boys that keep me plenty busy. We seem to be involved in lots of activities at their school. Music is a big part of our time at home, along with the occasional jags of total chaos.
