Where social skills and interest in computers meet
The instructions below are for installing the software on a Windows 7 machine. You will need Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate for the software to work.

In addition, please note that the software is intended to run on multitouch tablets, such as the Dell XT2 and the HP tx2. The tablet's graphics driver should support OpenGL 2.0. This should be the case with higher-end tablets, but may not be the case with smaller netbook style tablets, in particular those using the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500 (such as the HP Slate 500). Check our FAQ for a workaround for these tablets.

  1. To install the software, make sure you have Administrator access in the computer.
  2. Download and unzip our multitouch applications into a location of your choice (e.g., the Desktop). Watch a sample installation on a Dell XT2. Under the "open autism software" folder, you will find four batch files corresponding to the four applications. Double-clicking the batch files will run the applications. To see the source code for our applications navigate to the "software" folder, then to the "asd" folder.

If you are having problems with the responsiveness of the touchscreen try turning off your computer, waiting a few seconds, then turning it back on. If that doesn't solve the problem, go under Start->Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->N-trig Pen and Touch Settings, and press the Reset button.
