Research Experiences for Undergraduates
Each year six undergraduate students will be awarded fellowships to boost research and competitiveness.
Benefits include: (1) undergraduate fellowship; (2) 1:1 reading and career advice; (3) projects for undergraduate thesis; (4) interaction with graduate students.
The group will hold two summer topology courses, an Undergraduate Seminar, and an Undergraduate Career Workshop. We will also host three conferences: Panorama of Geometry and Topology, Underrepresented Students in Topology and Algebra Research Symposium, and Topological Data Analysis.
The latter will particularly help to connect the students with applied disciplines.
We aim to place more graduate students in academic or research jobs, and encourage more undergraduates to enter graduate schools in mathematical sciences.
