The 'trials and tribulations' of electronic voting

OTTUMWA -- Voters these days are concerned that every vote is counted at election time.

Dr. Douglas Jones would one day like to assure Americans of just that.

The University of Iowa Professor of Computer Science was at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa Monday night lecturing on electronic voting.

Jones is nationally recognized as an expert on voting systems.

He talked to students and residents about the importance of maintaining accuracy at the polling place.

Jones also preached accountability.

"I want the vendors to have their feet held to the fire to deliver the best that we can get because I think our democracy deserves that," said University of Iowa professor Dr. Douglas Jones.

He tells KTVO that Iowa does a great job at holding accurate elections.
