Are you a researcher or practitioner in interaction design and children? Is there a particular work (e.g., article, paper, keynote, demo or book) that is at least five years old and has had a great influence in your professional life? Or are you a PhD student whose research is inspired by such a work originating outside your own institution? We invite you to reflect on the impact of that work in your approach to designing technologies for children, put your reflections in writing, and tell colleagues about it through a short presentation at CHI 2011.

To participate, please prepare a four-page submission in CHI Extended Abstract Format and email it in pdf format to Juan Pablo Hourcade (hourcade@cs.uiowa.edu) by February 18, 2011.

A panel of experts will review all submissions. We will notify authors of acceptance decisions by February 25, 2011. Authors of accepted submissions will make a short (10 minute) presentation during the Interaction Design and Children Remixed session at CHI 2011.

The Interaction Design and Children Remixed session is inspired by Erickson and McDonald’s book, HCI Remixed.

This session is part of the HCI for Kids community at CHI 2011.
