Characteristics
- Leaves - Alternating, shape highly variable, upper surface hirless, lower surface covered with spidery hairs (hirsute).
- Stems - Brown pith; Ribbed, hairy.
- Tendrils - Found on adjacent nodes, bifurcating, hirsute.
Plants as seen in their local environment.
Stem structures - The pith in the center of this stem is brown. This is characteristic of all Vitis species. Ampelopsis centers will be white. Note the ribs on the stem.
