Characteristics
- Flowers - One to several per cluster, white, 5 petals, upright, calyx with hairs and sometimes globose, pedicel bristly.
- Foliage - Maximum 5 hairless leaflets per leaf, petiole with hairs.
- Stem structures - Larger, stiff curved prickles, smaller glandular bristles.
- Fruit - Green with growing, red when ripening and finally black.
Vines growing in a border area. They also grow in open fields in full sun.

Sepals and peduncle, note hairs (sometimes glandulose).
Leaf with 3 leaflets (5 max) and petiole.
Hairless leaflet at growing tip, upper surface.
Stem showing alternating leaves, nodes and prickles.
Hairless leaflet at growing tip, underside.
Stem, glandular bristles and larger curved prickles.
Bud and bristly (sometimes glandular) pedicel.
Fruit green when young, later turns red then black.
