Additions Since First Release

This section outlines features that have been added since the first release and are now part of the standard distribution. Some of the new features include special variables, multiple return values, packages for name space management, a byte code compiler, a new generational garbage collector, ratios and unlimited precision integer arithmetic, new random number generators, and Common Lisp conditions for structured exception handling. Byte code compilation, packages, and new random number generators are described in more detail in the following subsections.
