After tentative grades were assigned using total grades, students with D and F grades were noted and their homework/quiz scores were checked. All who earned fewer than 16 points on homework had grades of F. Nobody with a of 24 or more earned an F. Nobody with scores above 30 earned a D. the lowest score above a D was 16. It is not shocking that there is some scatter here because of all the multiple-choice questions.

After tentative grades were assigned using total grades, students with D and F grades were noted and their machine problem scores were checked. All of the F's earned fewer than 6 point on programming assignments. All of the D's earned fewer than 22 points, and all with higher grades earned over 17 points.
