Subject: First Announcement: IA chapter meeting on November 1st, 2013

  Dear Chapter members,

Greetings from Ames, IA. I hope everyone is having a good summer.

After a long break, the Iowa chapter is ready to resume its activities and we are inviting everyone to join us on Friday, November 1st from 4 to 7pm on the ISU campus for a poster session with mixer.

For a broad variety of topics we would like to invite poster presentations from undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and all chapter members who are active in statistics outside the university/college environment.

This is a first announcement and more details will follow in the upcoming weeks. Please encourage your students to attend and all attendees are invited to consider presenting a poster on a topic in probability and/or statistics (e.g., analysis, consulting, class or research projects).

The chapter will provide help with transportation costs for non-ISU undergraduate and graduate students and we will also invite all student submissions to participate in a poster competition.

Please mark your calendars and feel free to circulate the message as you see fit.

Best wishes and enjoy the rest of your summer,

  Ulrike Genschel

  IA Chapter President
