Section 4.1, Exercises 51, 55, 59, 61, 64 (Critical points might occur where the function is zero, and not differentiable; or where the function is non-zero, differentiable, with derivative zero. Solve this with the aid of a computer or other computing device.)*

Section 4.7, Exercises 2, 3, 4, 10 (Ignore part (a) and do the rest, which is the general procedure for addressing such a problem.), 16, 17.

Finish the example we were doing at the end of class on Friday regarding the longest straight rod that can be moved through a corridor with two hallways at right angles, one of width 4 ft and the other of width 6 ft.*
